Tree Planting

This week is National Tree Week and some members of year 6 have been busy planting more trees on the Mossley school grounds.
They have planted 5 fruit trees for our orchard area.
The fruit trees are amazing for supporting bee and all pollinators in the spring, as well as providing essential fruit for not only humans but birds and mammals in the autumn.
They have also planted 3 silver birch trees. The silver birch trees can support 400 different species of invertebrates, fungi, moth and butterfly species and once established sequester co2.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Lisa Miller and her son, Theo. who have kindly given up their time to come in and help us to plant all the trees. Lisa has also been very busy helping to tidy up the Mossley School garden. We really appreciate all her help and support in helping us to make the Mossley School greener!
