Harry and Tiana Wisener's wow!!

On the 22/8/17 Harry and Tiana climbed Snowdon. Although they found it tough they carried on to the top and down the other side in 6 and a half hours carrying their own rucksacks and supplies. What an achievement!

Lawson & Max Year 2 win football awards, by Mrs Knibbs

The boys have been playing football for the season with the Vale Club junior team. The team have had a really success season winning the majority of their games. They have really developed as players and team mates. They were awarded Supporters player of the season and players player of the season. They are very proud of their achievements as we are too.

Jem Maddocks Year 1 overcomes swimming fear, by Mrs Knibbs

Spike Street is awarded player of the rugby festival, by Mrs Knibbs

Spike played in a rugby festival at the weekend and due to his hardwork – covering every square inch of the pitch in both attack and defence, massive workrate, lightning attacking runs in and out of opposition, 6 or more tries, and several assists, he was awarded player of the festival for his team. Well done Spike!

Conah Hawtin Year 6 achieves black belt in jujitsu, by Mrs Knibbs

Well done Conah, all of your hard training has paid off. What an incredible achievement!

Conah has been taking jujitsu classes for several years, moving up steadily through the belts. He has just completed his assessment for his black belt and was awarded a merit.

We could not be prouder of our year 2 children who all had a fantastic time on their first residential. They were so well behaved and mature, a real credit to their parents and to our school.

 

Children complete the Macclesfield Hike, by Mrs Knibbs

Over the weekend (11/3/17) Molly Mae, Tom, Dan and Harry all completed the Macclesfield Hike. On Saturday they walked 9 miles from Sutton to Barneswood Campsite where they spent the night. On the Saturday evening they were given co-ordinates to plan their journey home from Barneswood to Gawsworth which was a further 11 mile Hike. They did all of this with a rucksack weighing 10kg on their back, which held their food, clothes and camping equipment. This is an outstanding achievement and they all did so well. Congratulations!

On Saturday 11/2/17 Some of our students took part in a swimming gala. It was a first for Esme who took to it like a duck to water. She swam hard and gained her times for any following competitons she will compete in. Jack, Edie, Maya and Ella all managed to achieve PB'S. Well done on your achievements, you should be very proud!

The boys did so well in the Cheshire finals football competition. They managed to get to the quarter finals before being knocked out in a very close call game.

 

April in Year 5 Donates to Little Princess Trust, by Mrs Knibbs

We are very proud of April, who decided last summer that she would like to have her hair cut to donate it to the Little Princess Trust. The Trust provides real hair wigs for girls and boys that have lost their own hair due to illness. April sent off for all the information and it said that the optimum length to send hair was 30cm. So, she has been growing it and measuring it regularly and as soon as it reached the correct length she had it cut to send.

Year 3 learn the months in French, by Mrs Webb

Year 3 have been learning the months of the year in French this week and have been practising asking their partners what month their birthday is in. They also enjoyed singing a new song called "Quelle est la date de ton anniversaire?" and standing up each time they heard their birthday month.

Year 4 get to grips with the alphabet in French!, by Mrs Webb

Year 4 were introduced to the alphabet in French last week. This week they have completed further work on the sounds and were soon able to recognise and say most of the letters. It was especially impressive to hear them reciting a short rhyme including all the vowels.

Year 2 enjoyed learning a new rhyme in French about Fifi and Blanche, two little birds. They were all keen to participate in the rhyme using the finger puppets and also sang a song about the days of the week. Bravo!

Year 6 - les lettres sont arrivées!, by Mrs Webb

Year 6 pupils were excited this week to receive letters from their pen friends from Lacey Green Primary Academy in Wilmslow. Pupils have all completed a letter about themselves in French including information about the hobbies and sports they like and dislike. The next project will be to create a poem in French to describe themselves.

Today our Head boy and girl and their deputies visited the Cenotaph in Congleton to place a poppy wreath from Mossley School in remembrance of all who have fallen.

Stone Henge - in boxes, by Mrs Grice

First there was teamwork, getting 100's of boxes to the hall. Then it was a good old fashioned girls vs boys race to music to build the best Stone Henge out of boxes.

Both teams had a fab time, with lots of giggles but with a good feeling of competition.
