Happy New Year! Secret Story Teller
Date: 14th Jan 2016 @ 4:25pm
Happy New Year to all our wonderful Secret Story Tellers!
What a great way to start the year 2016 with another secret story teller. This week we had Mrs Roussarie, Hugo's Mummy come in and be our very first reader of the year! We were lucky enough to have time for two stories, the first being 'Rumble In The Jungle' written by Giles Andreae and David Wojtowycz;
'There's a rumble in the jungle, there's a whisper in the trees; the animals are waking up and rustling the leaves!'
We all loved this rhyming 'pop up' safari story and met everyone from the elphing elephant to the gangly giraffe and even the terrible tiger! It was a superb book to test our rhyming skills and learn about 'alliteration' Miss Holland also informed us that there is an audio version of the book to look out for too!
Our second story was another rhyming favourite 'The Gruffalo' written by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, we thoroughly enjoyed joining in with this well known story about the cunning mouse and his walk in the forest outwitting a succession of predators. We never get tired of anticipating the next part of the story and joining in with the repeated phrases.
Thank you so very much Mrs Roussarie for being the first story teller of the new year, you were great!
