Year 3 D&T Bugtopia Day, by Miss Young
Date: 26th Oct 2015 @ 9:35am
On Thursday Year 3 had a BUGTASTIC day!
The children started by finishing their designs for their bug houses and thinking about the different materials they would need to build their bug houses. We then went on a hunt outside to find any extra materials that we might need such as mud, leaves and twigs.
After we had gathered all the materials we needed, the building began! There was lots of creativity and also LOTS of mess...but most of all happy children.
The children all built a SUPER bug house and when they were finished, they placed them in the school grounds to make 'Critter Close' where we are hoping to find lots of bugs enjoying their holidays!
Take a look at our pictures to see what we got up to and how much fun we had!
Harvest, by Miss Young
Date: 8th Oct 2015 @ 3:15pm
We had such a brilliant time this morning at the harvest festival. We walked to church with the Year 2 and Year 4 children. Mr Taylor carried out the service where we were all able to go to the front of the church and hand in the tins that we had contributed.
We all sang some great harvest hymns together and prayed together to thank God for the harvest. Year 3 told the story of 'The Flying Pizza'. We talked about where the different ingredients came from and how far they travel around the world. If we had a mediterranian pizza, the ingredients would travel a total of 23,000 miles around the world before arriving in the UK to make our yummy pizzas!
The readers in church did us proud and used their big voices to tell the story. Thank you to anyone who helped us on our walk to and from the church.
Miss Young and Mrs Hodgkinson.

The Giant Jam Sandwich!!
Last week Mrs Swift's and Mrs Utteridge's class had their first brilliant Secret Storyteller. Mr Smallman (Oliver's Dad) read us the exciting story of 'The Giant Jam Sandwich' by John Vernon Lord. From a range of storytelling props to a PERFECT Italian voice-the children were mesmerized!
To top it all off Oliver and his Dad have created their own imaginative illustrations for the story. You must take a look. This PDF can be found below.
A big thank you to the Smallman family.
Tag Rugby Team Triumph!, by Mrs Grice
Date: 29th Sep 2015 @ 11:03am
On Saturday afternoon Mossley Primary school took part in the Congleton Rugby Club’s “World Cup” competition. The school had two teams – a year 3 / 4 team and a year 5 / 6 team.
The inexperienced year 3 / 4 team were amazing and showed great team spirit and some amazing skills and drew one match and won their other two pool matches. However, this was not quite enough to see them through to the semi-finals.
The year 5/6 team got off to a great start and quickly got into the pool matches. Amazing running and supporting skills were on show throughout the team and there were moments of individual brilliance. All this combined meant we topped our group and met Havannah in the semi finals. The team yet again worked well together and produced some brilliant try’s and team pressure ensured “tag turnovers”. This victory saw us into the final to play Buglawton. The children rose to the occasion and showed that they were worthy victors.
Well done to all both teams and a huge thank you to all the parents for their support.
Our tag rugby future is bright the future is Mossley!!!!
