Modern Foreign Languages Day, by Mrs Knibbs

We had a great day celebrating Modern Foreign Languages Day. The children dresssed to impressed, spoke several languages and ate lots of local treats.

Swimming, by Mrs Knibbs

The children were lucky enough to receive swim lessons in our onsite pool. We saw 180 children gain water confidence and progress greatly over the course of a few weeks. We cannot wait to do it again in the future.

Residential 'Moss Fest', by Mrs Knibbs

As we could not take the shildren on their residentials this year we wanted to plan something special for them. The children had the most amazing time doing all their activities.

Girls Football Team through to Cheshire Finals , by Mrs Knibbs

The girls football team were awesome when they competed against the other primary schools. They won the whole competition and will soon compete against the best in Cheshire in the Cheshire finals cup.

Some children from year 4 had the opportunity to attend a science morning delivered by AstraZeneca. They had a great time extracting DNA from a banana; looking at the reaction between acids and alkaline and making sherbet.

Thank you to everyone who took part and sponsored the children in the swimathon. They managed to raise £718.26 which will be split between Ruby's Fund, Cancer Research and Alzheimers Society.

Year 4 Scientists, by Mrs Knibbs

Year 4 enjoyed a science morning led by Microbiologists and Chemists, they were taken through a number of activities. They were shown how to extract DNA from a banana, used chromatography to show colours in a felt tip pen and we learnt how quickly micro-organisms spread (no such thing as the 5 seceond rule!)

Year 4 WW1 Injured Soldiers , by Mrs Knibbs

The year 4 children were set a mission: They made stretchers which had to be sturdy enough to hold the weight of an injured solider. They then negotiaged No Man's Land to make their way back to the safety of the Red Cross.

Year 4 Embark on a Cross Stitch Challenge, by Mrs Knibbs

Cross Country Competition, by Mrs Knibbs

The children were incredible in the primary schools year 3&4 cross country competition. Their determination was evident and we could not be prouder of their performances. All of the children finished within the first half of the racers. The girls achieved a 1st place, 4th and 7th, the boys achieved a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th against 120 other children!

Coding Competition, by Mrs Knibbs

 The children took part in the Bebras coding competition at Eaton Bank, hosted by Mark Mills. They were challenged to solve different coding problems within limited time. The children were amazing and demonstrated a great ability to work together and independently under pressure.

Year 4 learn about the Red Eye Tree Frog, by Mrs Knibbs

Year 4 have been really busy during their rainforest topic learning so many different facts. They particularly enjoyed learning about the Red Eyed Tree frog. They discovered where the frogs originate from and how they defend themselves and tehy created amazing art work too.

School Safety Council out and about, by Mrs Knibbs

This morning our safety council was out and about on the local roads around school. They were observing road users and encouraging safety awareness and considerate driving. Thank you for your time, what great council members you are.

Year 4 Scientists, by Mrs Knibbs

Some of our year 4 children had the opportunity to attend a science session led by Astrazeneca. They were amazed! The children made balloons inflate using an acid and a base (ascetic acid (vinegar) and baking powder)

They made sherbet out of icing sugar, baking powder and citric acid. They also explored mixing oil and water, leading to making a lava lamp.

Safety Council, by Mrs Knibbs

The children have been nominated to undertake the very important role of safety council members. As part of their role they will monitor road safety around the school area; liaise with our school safe guarding lead and assist with the development of safeguarding plans.

Year 4 Rainforest Topic, by Mrs Knibbs

Year 4 have really enjoyed the topic of the rainforest. The have created all sorts of different animals, learnt about the different layers and the impact of sourcing palm oil. They even got to experience the practical handling of different animal that can be found in the rainforest.
