Year 6 children take part in the Scout Macclesfield hike, by Mrs Knibbs
Date: 19th Mar 2018 @ 3:10pm
Joseph Lloyd, James Mills and Thomas Jackson all took part in the Macclesfield Hike over the weekend.
They all showed amazing resilience and real growth mindset as they walked and navigated their route through blizzards and freezing weather conditions.
After a days hike they pitched their own tents and cooked their meals in the continued bad weather. At about 7pm their parents got the call that the camping and next days hike were called off due the deteriorating weather.. it took a further 3 hours to get them home safely! The boys were happy and very excited by the days adventure and even a little disappointed they didn’t get to carry on!
The leaders have praised all the Scouts for their excellent behaviour, determination, and resilience. We are all immensely proud of the boys!
